Meet Dr. Varuna Srinivasan
A physician turned educator, with a public health degree from Johns Hopkins University, specializing in gender, sexuality, and health equity. Her work includes testifying regularly before the FDA to improve drug and device testing standards, providing maternal clinical care with Doctors Without Borders in rural India and serving on Planned Parenthood Federation of America's health media team during the fall of Roe v. Wade in 2022.
Currently, she is the founder of Fluid Health, a research collective exploring sex and gender differences in health care and author of the forthcoming book High Maintenance (Harper Collins, 2027).
As a practicing Buddhist living in NYC with her husband and puppy, Varuna enjoys reading, thrifting antique furniture, photography, and spending time with her enormously large Indian family.
