As a journalist, Dr. Srinivasan contributes her expertise towards improving existing literature on health on topics related to LGBTQ+ health, sexual health and public health. She held a resident sex columnist position at Allure magazine and a position on the expert review board at Parents Magazine for over 3 years while also contributing editorially for Washington Post, Health, Cosmopolitan, and Vogue India. In 2021, Varuna was shortlisted as 'Journalist of the Year"by SH24, a sexual health initiative led by the NHS.
